How to apply

Sixth Form Application Form

9 Important Steps Into Oldfield Sixth Form:

Step 1: Research

Research information about Oldfield Sixth Form. Talk to your teachers about what A levels are like in their subjects. Talk to your Sixth Form Head of House or any other student in the Sixth Form: find out what it’s really like! Ask to see Mr Nash if you have specific questions. There will be a range of events, from Sixth Form students visiting your tutor groups to guidance sessions by your tutor and teachers to help you make up your mind.

Step 2: Sixth Form Information Evening 7th November 2019

Attend the Sixth Form Information Evening with your parents. Gather as much information as you can. There will be a subject fair where you can find out important information about subjects and you will also be able to visit the Sixth Form Centre and talk to Sixth Formers about their experience at Oldfield School.

Step 3: Apply

Fill in the Sixth Form Application Form that is part of the prospectus. Alternatively, you can collect this from your tutor or from Mr Nash in the Sixth Form office. Please return your application form by 21st December 2018.

Step 4: Experience

An application to Oldfield Sixth Form guarantees you a place on our Sixth Form Experience Day where you will get the opportunity to meet your fellow students and learn more about life in our sixth Form. You will also experience a full hour taster session in the three or four subjects you have chosen to study at A level.

Step 5: Attend an interview

Once you have applied, we will ask you to attend an interview with a senior member of staff. This is your chance to impress us! It also provides an opportunity for us to discuss your choices, your future ambitions and how to help you make the most of your time in the Sixth Form. Interviews will take place January/February 2019.

Step 6: Receive your offer

All offers will be sent out during March 2019.

Step 7: Induction Interviews

Once you have received your offer we will arrange a further one-to-one interview to review your choices and provide information about expectations and opportunities in the Sixth Form

Step 8: GCSE results day!

GCSE results are issued on Thursday 22nd August 2019.

Oldfield students can pick these up between 10.00 and 11.30 a.m. from the dining area in main school. If you get the grades- welcome to the Sixth Form! But if something has gone wrong, come and talk to Mr Nash and we can look at your options and see if there’s anything we can do to help.
