Catering during COVID 19

We have moved to a more limited catering service in order to allow us to provide food safely during the corona virus outbreak. Please find details of how to order below:

Over the summer, we have had a cashless catering system installed. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to use it yet as, due to COVID-19,  we have had to redesign our catering provision in order to minimise contact between groups of students. Instead, we have introduced a system of pre-ordering food on ParentPay which will be delivered to the indoor area where your child’s year group bubble has been assigned to eat. This will prevent queuing in mixed year groups thus allowing students to remain in their bubbles.

The menu will run on a two week repeating cycle and is as follows:

Filled Rolls (White or Wholemeal) – Available each day

Cheese/cheese salad

Ham/ham salad

Tuna mayo

Chicken and bacon

Hummus and salad

Southern Fried Chicken Wrap

You will be able to purchase either a hot meal or a cold meal for £2.60 and all meals will be served with a piece of fruit and a bottle of water.

Meals can be pre-booked from the Friday of the previous week. They will be put on ParentPay at 7pm each Friday afternoon and can be purchased until 8am on Monday mornings.

Please be aware that no  snacks will be on sale at breaks or lunchtime and that all meals must be ordered via ParentPay.

All food is prepared on site. The chicken is Halal and there is a vegetarian option each day.

The food service at Oldfield is run by husband and wife team David Hemmings and Karen Thomson. They are both highly experienced in their fields and before working here ran a successful Gastro Pub in Bath.  They brought their appreciation of good food to the school with them and believe in freshly produced meals and quality that is good enough for anyone. To that end the hot food is cooked fresh and the rolls are baked in the kitchen every day.  They firmly believe that the children deserve as good as they can possibly get – for a great price!!

Free School Meals

If your child is eligible for Free School Meals, you will be emailed prior to the start of each term and asked to complete your child’s choices through an online form. If you do not have access to the internet or you wish to adjust your child’s choices, please call the school office who will be able to help you do just that.
