Duke of Edinburgh

The Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE) is the world’s leading achievement award for young people, and is recognised by employers and universities alike. It promotes personal development through participation in this enjoyable, challenging and rewarding programme.  The ethos of the award is to enable every young person to take part in the programme and succeed, no matter what background he or she comes from.

There are three levels to the Duke of Edinburgh scheme – Bronze, Silver and Gold. Once every aspect of a level is completed you obtain your award and can choose to go onto the next level of the scheme. Here at Oldfield School we have been running the DofE successfully for at least ten years. The journey begins in Year 9 for those that are interested in taking part, at Bronze level, and continues in Year 10 at silver level and concludes with gold in Sixth Form.
