Careers Guidance and Work Experience

Overview

At Oldfield school we believe that high quality careers advice, guidance and support are key in preparing students for their next steps in life and to manage those vital stepping stones from learning, training and into the world of work.

We aim to provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to make informed and aspirational choices. As such, our programme begins with Year 7 students considering the world of work and the range of career sectors available to them and ends in Year 13 with guidance and support to help students make the next appropriate steps for them: whether that is University, apprenticeships or employment.

Heads of Year and tutors work alongside our careers team to monitor each student and the experiences, advice and guidance they are given.

The school employs an independent Careers Advisor, Nadiia Rawlings. She works closely with tutors and Heads of Year to ensure students are given high-quality, impartial advice. If you feel your child would benefit from a careers interview, please contact your tutor and one will be arranged.
