Work Experience in Year 10 and Year 12

Army

Army Outreach Team Work Experience Courses are delivered at Okehampton Camp, Devon, and are aimed at Schools and FE establishments for Year 10/11+ students (ages 14–18 only).

These 4-day residential courses are designed for individuals who have shown an interest—however small—in a career in the British Army, offering a taster of Army life.

Course Objectives:

  1. Information and Insight – An overview of the Army’s organisation, roles, equipment, training, operations, and lifestyle for both Regular and Reserve soldiers and officers.
  2. Career Opportunities – Insight into the range of careers available and the recruitment and selection processes.
  3. Personal Development – Building confidence and highlighting the positive aspects of an Army career.
  4. General Information – Courses are generic and not regimental-specific, providing a broad understanding of Army life.
