Supply Teachers

Voluntary Work Experience as a Teaching Assistant
We are happy to consider applications for voluntary work experience for the next academic year starting in September 2012. To be eligible we need a commitment of at least a day or two half days a week. You are able to state a preference for the subject area in which you would like to gain experience – eg History, Science, Learning Support. We strongly encourage involvement in our extra curricular provision – eg Duke of Edinburgh Award, Music clubs etc.
We ask applicants to complete a simple application form, where appropriate we invite applicants to visit the school for an informal discussion and tour of the school. After that a reference is taken up; once a satisfactory reference has been received we ask for identity documents to be produced prior to the start of the work experience.
Many people who have undertaken work experience in the past at Oldfield have gone on to gain places on PGCE courses or have secured paid teaching assistant posts.
