Year 11 BANES Netball Tournament

Congratulations to the Year 11 netball squad who came runners up in the Year 11 BANES Netball Tournament as part of a nine school entry.

They arrived with purpose and took to the court for every game with 150% commitment, determined to do well. It was a truly impressive squad performance, no matter which combination was on each game, those in the game gave their all and those on the sides were fully supportive to their team mates.

“There was some very impressive netball on show from all schools and each game was tough, but the tension in the semi final against Wellsway was almost too much for me and I wasn’t even playing! The girls held strong and pulled through with just one goal in it- some fabulous netball from both teams.

The final proved to be even more stressful. Full time and we were 4-4 so extra time was played and again it was tight, but an unfortunate loss of possession meant we finally lost 7-5 but I’m so proud of the squad. They were perfect ambassadors for Oldfield School all afternoon going about their job professionally and with a smile. Well done!!!” commented Mrs Little, Deputy Leader of Learning PE.
