Another rise in GCSE results

Oldfield school’s GCSE results have shown another rise for the third year in a row, with 69% of students achieving 5 A*-C (including English and maths at grade 4 or above), and 22% of all entries at A/A* (or grades 7-9). This reflects similar successes at A-Level, and is well deserved for our hard working students and also our very dedicated and skilled teachers.

At the top end there were some very notable successes, with 14 students (10% of the cohort) achieving at least 7 or more A/A* equivalent grades. These were:

Yash Rajput (10A* and 1 A, achieved 9 in maths)

Lucy Lord (9A* and 2 As. Achieved 9 in maths and English Lit)

Thomas Wills (9A* and 2 As. Achieved 9 in English Lang and English Lit)

Isobel Thomson (7A* and 4As. Achieved 9 in English Lang and English Lit)

Abigail McLoughlin Dymond (7A* and 3As. Achieved grade 9 in maths)

Freya Spear (5A* and 5As. Achieved grade 9 in English Lang and English Lit)

Madeline Bryan (5A* and 2As. Achieved grade 9 in English Lit)

Abbie Mills (3A* and 6As)

Grace Holway (3A* and 6As)

Maddisson Wordon (2A* and 6As)
