A Level Results Day 2021

As with students all across the country, our Year 13 cohort have had an extremely disrupted year.  Head of Sixth Form, Mr Nash said “we are enormously proud of the resilience and determination to succeed that they have all shown during this difficult time. They responded to the challenges of school-based assessments with aplomb: 40% of all results were A*-A and 88% of results were grades C or above.”

There are a number of students worthy of a special mention; William Templeton, Head Student, achieved A* grades in English Literature, Physics and Further Mathematics, having taken his Mathematics A level in Year 12. He will be attending Cambridge University to study Mathematics. Nafisa El-Turke, Head Student, achieved A*A*A in Fine Art, English Literature and Mathematics respectively and is going on to study law at Bristol University. Joey Williams achieved A* in all three of his A levels and will be studying Civil Engineering at Sheffield University, whilst Ben Cook who is going on to study maths at Warwick University, achieved two A* grades and one A grade. 81% of students achieved their first choice university places.

Mr Mackay, Headteacher at Oldfield School said, “I am delighted with the results our students have achieved. Our current Year 13 were an exceptional group of students and we wish them every success with their future plans.”
